Unfortunately, I suffer from cold sores. I have been using the Lysine Plus products now for about 2 years. This product is the best I have ever used. I take the liquid extract as a daily supplement. Since taking the extract I have not had a break out. I find the extract works better for me then the pill form. I also use the Lysine Plus cold stick daily as well. I can't believe how fast and well these products work. Instead of a week or more of suffering and embarrassment because of cold sores, they're gone in a few days. ***Dear Quantum Health, I wanted to share with you my experience with your product. I used to use and swear by B..tex, as long as I caught the outbreak when it first tingled. Then my doctor recommended Denavir, which worked better than B.tex as it decreased the amount of time needed to heal my cold sore and, if caught early enough, would prevent the outbreak completely. However, the last two times I used Denavir, my lip got all swollen and the outbreak was made worse. (The first time it happened, I thought I must have mistakenly popped one of the blisters and somehow spread it to cause the two outbreaks at once.) Yesterday was my second outbreak where my lip swelled up and the area of the blisters tripled in size in spite of using the medicine. This time, I know I did not rupture any of the blisters so I surmised it must be the Denavir causing this type of reaction.
This morning I had had enough of the swollen lip and feared the outbreak would get worse again from using the Denavir. So, when I went shopping to get my old reliable B..tex again, I started to remember what a pharmacist from Alvin's Pharmacy in Teaneck, New Jersey told me about treating cold sores. He said he liked lysine ointment much better than Denavir. At the time, it fell on deaf ears, regrettably, as his advice was given to me prior to my last two outbreaks and I was a loyal Denavir user as it could get rid of the outbreak quickly for me, or so I thought. So, when I saw your product Lip Clear Lysine Plus+, I was skeptical but desperate. After using your product since 11:00 am, I cannot tell you the huge difference between my lip from then and now. My cold sore looks like it is in the final stages of healing, even though I only got it yesterday afternoon. Right now, I look in the mirror and it is barely noticeable whereas before you could not miss it, it was so big. It is starting to itch already and has shrunk down to its normal size, with the blisters drying up.
From now on, I am telling everyone I know who suffers from cold sores about your product. I try to take Lysine tablets when I know there will be a stressful situation (like in July when I got married for the first and, hopefully, last time) but I forgot to take it this week. We are buying property and the closing is Wednesday, which I guess I am more nervous about than I thought.
Your product is a godsend as I refused to even attend Church this morning because my lip was so swollen and hid my face with my hair when I went to the store to buy Blistx but bought your product instead. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have no idea how embarrassing it is going around with a cold sore on your lip with everyone staring at you unless you get cold sores yourself. I believe at this point my lip will heal within a few short days and you saved me several days of humiliation. I only wished that I had taken before and after pictures to document my experience. Recently I had some cosmetic work done on my lips and was advised that I would break out in cold sores. I tried what they had recommended as well as various other cold sore treatments on Eckerd’s shelf. I found your product Lip Clear Lysine+ and immediately my lips felt soothed. I used your Lip Clear Lysine+ Cream for the first time this week and it is fantastic. I usually get a cold sore on the inside and outside of my nose after a fever with a cold. I applied your cream before I felt any symptoms and also started taking Lysine 3X a day. I got a few blisters but nothing compared to the huge, festering mess that would completely take over my nose and cheek causing a lot of pain and embarrassment. As I just started a new job in a very professional atmosphere in the public eye, this product is greatly appreciated. Over the years I have tried all sorts of OTC products and while they do provide some relief in that they keep the sores moist, nothing stopped the progression of the blisters or the duration. Your product allowed only a few blisters in a very small area to appear. I had purchased your cream some time ago because I had read on the internet that Lysine was good for cold sores. Thank you for a great product that actually works and helps relieve a very stressful and painful problem.
